February is the month to celebrate Valentine’s
Day…to have precious moments with those you love and express your
feelings with a gift or simply a greeting card.
From the time we were children and we
distributed little cards with big red hearts on them to everyone in the
classrooms, a special one for the teacher … and a beautiful cut-out
heart box of candy to Mom… we celebrated Love.
LOVE is defined as “Affection, a warm
attachment or devotion, an unselfish concern that freely accepts another
in loyalty and seeks his good, to feel passion or tenderness and take
pleasure in having and/or belonging…”

Unfortunately, we live in a throw-away world of
broken marriages and lost friendships, abusive or evasive relationships
and the loneliness of not belonging or of being treated unfairly …all of
which may often result in dangerous retaliations.
Never has there been more of a need for “anger
management” to control the need of so many to force others to pay for
the emptiness and estrangements they suffer.
All you need is love; whether it be from family,
friends, pets or your chosen profession; most important is loving what
you do in your work and that love of your career must come from you in
your love and respect of those you associate with. The joy of working is
conditioned by your attitude and, if the joy is not there, it is time to
make some changes.
The happiest of people remark, “I really love
what I do!” and such love reflects on their love of everything they hold
dear…their families, friends, their pets and everyone around them.
What’s love got to do with it? If you love what
you are doing in your work and career, the beneficiaries will include
everyone around you…including yourself.
